TU Me to be pre-loaded onto smartphones in Latin América | Think Big
Telefonica Digital announced during the MWC that TU Me, the smartphone communications app, will be pre-loaded onto millions of smartphones from leading manufacturers like ZTE, Alcatel and Huawei over the course of 2013 beginning in Q2 in Latin America.
Available on iOS and Android, TU Me allows free texting, calling and sharing between smartphones via a simple, searchable timeline.
The collaboration significantly increases distribution of the app, making it available to millions of Telefonica customers across the region to use out of the box. Initially TU Me will be pre-loaded on devices including the Huawei Ascend, Y200 and 8350, Alcatel 916 and ZTE.

As OTT apps increase in popularity across Latin America, TU Me has successfully built a core audience in the region since its launching in May 2012. By working closely with Telefonica Digital, its operating businesses and external strategic partners, it plans to rapidly continue growing in the next year.
“Pre-loading TU Me on devices is the first step for the OB´s in LatinAmerica to embrace TU Me and begin promoting the TU ecosystem” said Leandro Pérez-Cossío, Head of Operator Development at Telefonica Digital.
Huawei is the 3rd largest worldwide Smartphone provider and wants to increase its market share, with innovative and development projects.
